HOH memories!

I worked at the House of Hope for 2 years, and they were all so memorable. I learned how to communicate more properly, recognize unhealthy relationships (they're everywhere!), set boundaries, recognize black and white thinking (the hardest for me to do), and many more life skills. But most of all, I learned how to care about so many amazing women in recovery, who despite driving me crazy time and time again by many manipulations and tantrums, showed me courage and strength through their example. Due to confidentiality, none of them are in these pictures, but will always be in my memories, whether pleasant or unpleasant. :) But I want to share with you the amazing co-workers who helped make me who I am today! I love and miss you guys!

I loved Halloween and seeing how creative people were. The theme this year was "villians and superheroes"

Ursula vs Wonder Woman....who would win?

The year before it was the baby vs the ninja. I think we can all see who won that time!

One of my favorite things about working there, was going on Big Rec activities. They were so much fun! We would take the women and their children out in the community on activities, but no one ever said we couldn't have just as much fun as the kids!

Ice skating was one of my favorite activities. Lori claims Rachel and I pushed her over on the ice, but I still hold true to my story that she fell on her own. Good thing we always have the first aid kit handy!

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree

This is what we call "the mom face".... all of us girls have it! We blame Mom! The best part is that one day Danielle, while adamantly trying to convince Shantell and I that she didn't do "the mom face", was in fact doing "the mom face" the whole conversation. Sorry Danielle, you can't escape it. It's part of our genes.

Mom's 50th b-day with Grandma Crockford and Larry

A picture with me and my friend Sam....and the dogs. The dogs always have to be in the pictures!

Thanksgiving at Mom's house!

Festival of Colors

My first experience at the Festival of Colors! Within minutes of being there, colored chalk was already being thrown at us! We sat and watched some ceremonial dancing, story telling, but we were all waiting for the exciting part: the throwing of the chalk! Oh, and the witch burning was kinda cool, too! Marci was a little more prepared than myself to prevent chalk from staining

After the chalking, Kelli and i had to pose for a picture

Luckily, Angela brought us masks

Angela, Marci, and I before the drive home! The experience was everything I had hoped it would be!!!

Zions National Park

Our trip to Zion's National Park. After sleeping, actually not sleeping cuz it was so humid and cold in the tent, we decided to hike Angels' Landing. We all look pretty happy on the tram ride up, probably because the pain hadn't bugun yet! Moments later, it would all begin!

Shortly after we started the hike. Notice we're still smiling. The pain was barely starting to manifest itself.

You know you have good friends when you express how self-conscious you are of hiking because you always get left in the dust, and they decide to let you set the pace, and actually LET you set the pace.

In order to trick my mind and body into thinking that I LOVE hiking, especially those switchbacks, I kept saying, "My body LOVES this. WOOOO! LOVE IT!" over, and over, and over, and over, and over. People were heard saying to each other after passing me, "what is that girl talking about?" haha

Yep, you guessed it...another break! But, my loyal friends were right there by my side waiting for me!

And this is where the brave were separated from the spineless. J/k. The chains were the easy part, in my opinion!

Finally reached the top of Angel's Landing! Not only did I reach the top, but I was the first of our group to reach it. I'd like to think it's because of my amazing hiking skills, but alas, it was not! Marci was even making sure no one got ahead of me. If they did, she would say, "stop! Holly needs to be first. Holly, are you ready?" It was beautiful!!

This is an expression of sheer joy that the hike was finally over! My body hurt so bad!

Dinner never tasted so good at the end of the night!

I LOVE Halloween

When the question, "what is your favorite holiday?" is asked, the usual responses are "Christmas, because I get to see all my family" or "Thanksgiving, because of all the amazing food...and, I get to see my family." Well, if you were to ask me that same question, I would quickly answer, "Halloween! I LOVE Haunted Houses!!"

I Love going to parties with friends!

I also love seeing all the creative kids dressing up!
